What a powerful story. It's a hard pill to swallow but the sooner we accept it the better. My two cents I've lived a very similar experience with an ex last year. Though I was not married and the relationship was in its early stage the only time I checked her phone I saw a message from another guy (no one if you'd ask her) and the gaslighting started, how dare I look into her phone and so on. Many women will justify their infidelity with bs reasons. In my opinion, the telltale signs are showing in their personality. How you do one thing is how you do everything. So many red flags will be ignored by us though they are right in front of us for those who know how to look (and dare to) I think you went too far trying to save something that was already gone. She displayed childish behavior and lack of accountability Don't be hard on yourself, you did your best and you probably did too much. If you tolerated such disrespect and things worked out you would have lost much more in the future (mental health and money being a few of them) Put yourself first, don't sacrifice your peace and principles for someone who cannot reciprocate. Once the respect is gone so should you be. Stay safe out there you all.
